Another focus of his work involves helping to develop stronger leaders and executive teams, including optimizing their personal and interpersonal effectiveness so as to build organizational cultures that inspire performance.
As an executive coach and facilitator, he takes a practical, down-to-earth, and solution-focused approach to facilitating personal and team success. His professional training as a psychologist, combined with his experience and understanding of the pressures of leadership and business, enable him to effectively assist business professionals and executives in managing their personal and professional challenges to enhance performance and resilience.
Thomas has worked with a range of individuals, from early career professionals to seasoned senior executives. His clients have included public and private companies spanning small family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations across various industries, from forestry to oil and gas, manufacturing to construction, and retail to financial services.
Thomas’ experience is supported by a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia as well as Masters and Honours Bachelor degrees in psychology. His doctoral research is published in a top scientific journal and focuses on the types of negative and stress-related personal and interpersonal behavioural patterns that impair leadership effectiveness and put managers at risk of career derailment.
His understanding of scientific leadership research combined with his practical approach, enables clients to gain insight and take actionable steps to be more effective leaders, teams, and organizations.
